Frequently Asked Questions — Lumiglo Teeth Whitening

1. Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes! At Lumiglo, we use LED-based whitening technology paired with gentle, enamel-safe formulas designed for cosmetic use. All of our products are FDA-registered and pH-balanced to avoid sensitivity and maintain tooth strength. Many clients say it’s more relaxing than they expected!

2. How long does a whitening session take?

Session times range from 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the package you choose. The Signature and Platinum treatments last about one hour and include prep, whitening, and aftercare steps. You’ll walk out feeling refreshed with a noticeably brighter smile.

3. Will it make my teeth sensitive?

Most clients experience little to no sensitivity. We use a desensitizing Vitamin E & Aloe lip oil treatment before and after each session, and our gel is specially formulated to reduce irritation. If you’ve had sensitivity in the past, just let us know — we’ll take extra care.

4. How white will my teeth get?

It depends on your starting shade, enamel density, and lifestyle habits (coffee, tea, wine, etc). Most clients see 2–8 shades of improvement in a single session. Results are immediate, but they often continue to improve slightly over the next 24 hours.

5. How long does the whitening last?

Results can last 3 to 6 months or longer, depending on your diet, oral care, and habits. We recommend a quick “Elevate” touch-up session every 3–4 months to maintain your glow — especially if you love your morning coffee or wine nights!

6. What should I avoid after my appointment?

For the first 24 hours, avoid dark-staining foods and beverages (coffee, red wine, soy sauce, berries, etc). Stick to a “white diet” if possible: chicken, rice, cauliflower, eggs, and clear liquids. No smoking or colored lipsticks either — your pores are open and stain-prone!

7. Can I whiten while pregnant or nursing?

We always recommend you consult with your OB-GYN first. While our products are safe and non-invasive, we prefer to be extra cautious during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Most of our mamas wait a few months — and then book a full Platinum glow-up!

8. Who isn’t a candidate for whitening?

Whitening may not be effective on veneers, crowns, or bonded teeth, and is not recommended for clients with gum disease, open cavities, or recent oral surgery. We always encourage a quick dental checkup beforehand if you have concerns.

9. How do I book a session?

Easy! You can book online through our website or send us a DM on Instagram @lumiglowhitening. Once we confirm availability, we’ll send over a short intake form and secure your time. A deposit may be required for new clients.

10. Where are you located?

We’re based in South Orange County — exact address is provided upon booking confirmation. Private suite, relaxing vibe, and super easy parking. You’ll love it here.
