Is Whitening Safe During Pregnancy?

This is one of the most important questions we get from expecting mamas, and we love that you’re asking.

The short answer?

Teeth whitening isn’t typically recommended during pregnancy—but every situation is unique, and we always encourage you to speak with your doctor first.

Here’s Why It’s Cautiously Avoided

While there’s no strong evidence that professional whitening is harmful during pregnancy, there also isn’t enough research to say it’s completely safe. So, as a precaution, most providers (including us) advise waiting until after baby arrives to begin full whitening treatments.

Pregnancy is a sensitive time, and your body is working overtime—so when in doubt, it’s best to hold off on anything that isn’t medically necessary.

What We Can Offer Instead

Still want that fresh, clean feeling? We totally get it. While we recommend delaying full whitening, we’re happy to:

  • Provide gentle oral care tips to reduce surface stains during pregnancy

  • Walk you through every ingredient we use, including our whitening gel, Vitamin E lip oil, and aloe-based soothing agents

  • Chat through options for a post-pregnancy glow-up session (because mama deserves to shine too!)

We’re Always Here to Help

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding and have questions about whitening, our team is more than happy to consult with you and your doctor. No pressure. No rush. Just real info to help you make the best decision for you and baby.
